Embedded Firmware Developer

.

Microhard has a position open for a Senior Firmware Developer to join our R&D team. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for Kernel and Application inside embedded Linux OS. This will include the design of Broadband and LTE routers. The candidate(s) must possess strong communications skills, careful attention to detail and a team-oriented attitude.

Duties:
  • Design, write and test Firmware for 3G and LTE modem routers
  • Develop in Linux Embedded Networking Applications
  • Develop and write M2M applications in embedded systems
  • Maintain and enhance embedded Firewall and VPN functions in Wireless Routers
  • Create well-documented, reusable and tested modules
  • Support firmware on existing projects
Qualifications:
  • Post-Secondary Education in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering
  • CCNA certification a plus
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a embedded firmware/software engineer
  • Solid understanding of VPN and other Secure tunneling Protocols
  • Understanding of and having a background in electronics is essential
  • Must have a range of experience on IP protocols and Devices such as Ethernet devices, routers, and networking

Linux Developer

Microhard has a position open for an Embedded Network Linux Developer to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, verification, and release of firmware, for embedded radio modem projects. The candidate must possess strong communications skills with attention to detail and a team-oriented attitude.

Duties:
  • Develop Embedded Networking Linux Applications
  • Embedded Firewall and VPN design, support, maintenance
  • Develop, test and support 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless protocols
  • Develop, test and support Ethernet protocols
  • Create well-documented, reusable and tested modules
  • Properly document work
  • Establish version control for new projects
  • Plan, design, develop, debug and commission software modules
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience
  • Must have more than experience on Networking or Network administration
  • Solid understanding of VPN and other Network Tunneling protocols
  • CISCO Certification
  • Understanding of Ethernet devices, routers, and networking background is essential

Hardware/FPGA Developer

.

Develop and support Board and/or FPGA/CPLD designs through all phases of design and system integration for high-reliability embedded radio applications. Perform activities such as requirements generation, Board and VHDL design, RTL-synthesis, test bench development and design simulation, static timing and power analysis, and requirements based design verification. Other activities include prototype evaluation, design-to-cost tradeoffs, design reviews, qualification test support, system integration support, production. Maintain the desire to stay current in the continuously developing field and to expand knowledge base and skills in FPGA design and digital hardware engineering.

Duties & Required Skills:
  • 5+ years circuit design experience, with the demonstrated ability to design VHDL-based FPGAs and CPLDs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital electronic devices and circuit design principles
  • Design experience with Microprocessor/Microcontroller interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN, memory interfaces such as SDRAM controllers, Flash, SRAM; serial interfaces (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, RS422, RS485, etc) and FPGA design using Microsemi, Xilinx, Lattice, Altera, etc
  • Experience with design tools such as Synplify and ModelSim
  • Experience with high-speed Digital circuit card design, including part placement and routing, constraint generation, and signal integrity analysis
  • Experience with Model-Based FPGA Development with Matlab, conversion between floating -point/fixed point domains
  • Expereince with application design
  • Hands-on hardware build, test, and integration experience
  • Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability, along with follow-up and monitoring skills
  • Familiarity with FPGA integration into digital circuit card designs to ensure electrical integrity of FPGA design in embedded applications
  • Experience using design/analysis tools, such as Timing Designer and Hyperlynx
Education:
  • Minimum Training/Education: BSEE
